Take it and shove it Condi!

Maybe our leaders can not give that reply to your sick proposal but I sure as hell can!

But thanks for the offer, because it is an implicit admission that your "recognition" of Kosovo and Metohija is worth nothing at all and that with the erosion of your power will vanish "independent Kosova" as well. And we are able to wait for the right moment...

How did the GOP come to McCain?

Many were surprised with the McCain ascendancy and are trying to explain it somehow. But if you ask me Charles Krauthammer nalied it: it was Bush! And this paragraph is particularly on the money:

Bush muddied the ideological waters of conservatism. It was Bush who teamed with Teddy Kennedy to pass No Child Left Behind, a federal venture into education that would have been anathema to (the early) Reagan. It was Bush who signed the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform. It was Bush who strongly supported the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill. It was Bush who on his own created a vast new entitlement program, the Medicare drug benefit. And it was Bush who conducted a foreign policy so expansive and, at times, redemptive as to send paleoconservatives like Pat Buchanan and traditional conservatives like George Will into apoplexy and despair (respectively).

Bingo! The word "conservative" has at best a vague meaning and at worst no meaning any more. However, Krauthammer and many of his colleagues can not just wash their hands over this. All these years they gave blank support to everything Bush did in the name of him "keeping people safe", they bear part of the responsibility for the erosion of the movement. If they want to keep any credibility and truly help conservativism they must adress this fact and repudiate their past cheerleading of Bush. But I realize I propably ask too much.

Who will rid Britain of this turbulent priest?

Another proof of how desperate things are getting comes from the Archbishop of Caterburry. Apparently, having the law of the land apply to each and everyone living in it has become somewhat of a hassle so they can bring in customs from the old country.

Great idea! What is next? Mafia code for members of the Cosa Nostra?

Malicious tongues are saying that the archbishop is trying to stay in good grace with the future head of his church, Prince Charles, known for his sympathies for islam so that he could immediately take over as the grand imam. Perhaps he already has.

To all those willing to give up Kosovo and Metohija for the EU

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countryman.”

The last stand or posture?

Prime minister Koštunica tells his coalition partners to drop dead. Until the parliament convenes, no governement session and no signing of any treaty with the EU(SSR) that the Tadić clique so covets.

But I have to ask Koštunica: what did he expect? How could he possibly pretend that Tadić and his party will give up on their raison d'etre which is joining the EUtopia? Could it be that only recently Koštunica and his ministers saw what I have seen in way back 2000, that to DS the European Union is an "ideological, dogmatic goal, like communism"? How can you expect such people to have the best interests of their country at heart?

But most of all, where does Koštunica really stand? He has brought these people to power 8 years ago and has kept them there ever since. Why did he have to wait for them come to the brink of literally selling out the country to denounce them, albeit indirectly? Will he be true to his statements or will he engineer another rotten compromise that will be presented as a "victory for the unity of Serbia"? Lives of millions and of a whole nation will depend on whether he backs his words with actions.

The voters have spoken, the bastards

That just about sums up the results of Serbia's presidential elections. The powers that be have managed through scare-mongering and libels to get out just enough people to give Boris Tadić the vote.

Unfortunately, it was to be expected. Alexander Tyler wrote that democracy can only exist until the electorate discovers it can vote its way to the treasury. Not only have the people in Serbia discovered that, but thanks to all the years of "credit communism" they know of nothing else. They not so much love the "big brother" that will feed them, provide them and take care of them, they need him! Tadić was there to give them one in the shape of the EU(SSR), Nikolić had none. His ideals of self-sufficiency and independence belong to an era only my grandmother's generation remembers it ever existed.

Still, Nikolić campaign should have done a better job. It should never have played the Mr.Nice Guy, not against this lot. It's about time somebody reintroduces pure negative campaigning in Serbia. Ads should have been made about Tadić and his associates and how they abused power and are breaking the constitution and are conspiring to give away the country's territory. Also, one needs to attack the party hacks that control economic institutions such as the National Bank and the stock market because of manipulations with the exchange rate and prices. And much more, so much more...Lessons to learn for next time, if there is anything left of Serbia.

No longer pigs flying

About a month ago I wrote how Lawrence Eagleburger oposing the American policy on Kosovo and Metohija was surprising at first glance but not so much if you give a second look.

Yesterday, he reiterated his views in a Washington Times op-ed written alongside John Bolton and Peter Rodman, former Assistant Secretary of Defense. So it has now become a pattern, rather then a glitch. Let's see where it will get him.

'There's plenty of room at the Hotel California...'

Egyptian judge rules that "nobody can leave islam"!

Just like in the famed song of "The Eagles": " can check out any time you like, but you can never leave"!
