This is the EU

For practically the whole year EU has been trying to make a unified policy for Kosovo and Metohija but the obstacle was always the policy of one memeber, most notably Spain, Italy and Slovakia. EU comissioners in Brussels, however, insisted that unity will be reached. It could only mean that the dissenters would be coerced into supporting the Ahtissari plan.

Confirmation of this came in the recent days when Italy and Slovakia announced their support for the US-led policy. Italian PM Romano Prodi said that they "did not change their opinions but that the circumstances changed". In other words, they were blackmailed into submission.

So much for respect for memeber states. As well as for the Baldrick-style "cunning plan" by some of the more idiotic EUtopians in Serbia that consisted of Serbia dissing Kosovo for EU membership and then when the time came she would block Kosovo's membership. Fat chance! In fact none, as we have just seen. Lesser members are forced to conform with policies directly against their interests in the name of the higher goal, or rather THE GOAL! The Union is everything, members are nothing. The policies of it are in full accordance with Mussolini's principle: everything within the Union, nothing outside the Union, nothing against the Union.

I may be preaching to the choir when I say this, but I'd like to ask people from the EU reding this, especially the new members from Eastern Europe: is this what you signed up for?
