Principle? What prinicple?

While on one hand doing it's most to sever Kosovo and Metohija from Serbia, on the other the USA is demanding that Bosnia and Hercegovina be reunified.

Don't bother trying to look for a logic in the US policy in the Balkans and elsewhere. There is none. Or rather, there is, but it has nothing to do with the public proclamations the White House amd the State Department make. Either that or they are insane.

As for the outrageous demands the US made, Republika Srpska prime minister Dodik naturally dismissed them out of hand. But such bullying approach does not concern me a lot because it has very small, even non-existant chance of succeeding. It is the "cooking the frog" method, the creeping unification that could be imposed through seemingly harmless measures that I fear. And I doubt any politician in Srpska is up to this challenge.

This is a long term problem with US foreign policy.

Internal inconsistency is another.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the "creeping unification." It is nothing new - in fact, it's been going on since 1996. Only recently have the Serbs managed to put their backs up and say "Wait a minute..." The behavior of Muslim leaders like Silajdzic and Ceric is making things even more obvious.
